Where True Beauty Begins

Children seem to be born just knowing how beautiful they are.  Then that slowly slips away as they get older.  Why?  There are lots of reasons, and influences out there.  One small, but subtle influence is the toys that children play with.  So many dolls, hardly even look like people.  When little girls play with dolls that look like they have pounds of make up on and plastic surgery, I believe it really impacts their subconscious to believe that is what beauty looks like.  Unsurprisingly, women then go from plastic surgery, to Botox, to all sorts of treatments to try to get a completely unrealistic look. What if the dolls kids played with actually looked liked a little girl? What if it was okay to have freckles and eyebrows and no mascara? There are real people who have true beauty and are putting it back into the world. Watch this beautiful video featuring Sonia Singh, from Tasmania, share one of her talents as she puts a little more beauty back in the world.
